88.1 KDHX Welcomes
Wye Oak’s Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack have been playing music together and apart in Baltimore for most of their lives. On stage, they perform with raw energy and sophistication, creating a surprising amount of noise for two people. Their music can be classified as 21st-century folk music, imbued with dense shoegaze guitars, nearly melodic rhythms, and impeccable splashes of electronic color.
Here are some words from the band to explain the $2 Donation:
Over the past several years of performing and touring, we have had the opportunity to spend time in so many of America’s great cities. Thanks to our fans’ continued support, we are now in a position where we can share some of our good fortune with those working on behalf of the communities we visit. We’re very excited to be working with Air Traffic Control in order to make this possible–with their assistance, $2 of every ticket sold on this tour will go to a local charity of our choice. We’re grateful to them for providing a simple and seamless process that will allow us and our fans to make a positive contribution to the places we visit.
