The Saturday Brothers
Happily married with kids, pets, and yard work, The Saturday Brothers were borne out of a necessity to escape the everydayness of their lives and reawaken a creative, musical outlet - even for just a few hours on Saturday afternoons.
All transplants to St. Louis, Nick Evancho (guitar/vocals) and Clint Smith (drums) met when their conspiring wives hatched a plan to unite these two unaccompanied musicians. Meanawhile, Seth Watkins (bass/vocal) arrived from the golden state and solidified the funky foundation.
Nick's looping guitar riffs, heart-on-his-sleeve lyrics combine with Seth's funky bass & Clint's textured beats to produce a truly unique Midwestern rock sound that doesn't take itself too seriously.
Ultimately, their songs end up addressing the very things they sought to escape: the mundane, the local, the everyday. And in doing so, they succeed in exposing a range of very hard-to-define universal truths.
