Esso is the alt-rock project of Phoenix musician Jared Mancuso, combining cinematic storytelling, explosive guitars, and catchy, emotional hooks.

On record, Esso is a one-man operation — every song written, performed, and recorded by Mancuso — but on stage, it becomes a full-band experience: loud, tight, and unapologetically alive.

Following the debut album Everything You Ever Wanted, Esso returns with Just Like In The Movies — a love letter to the feeling of the movies themselves. Each song captures a different piece of cinematic magic: some tell stories like a film (“Enough”), others channel memorable characters (“Kiss of Death” draws on the femme fatale mystique of classic Bond films, while “I’m Your Density” mirrors George McFly’s journey in Back to the Future), and a few simply live in the romantic glow of where movies are made (“Get to LA”).

With Just Like In The Movies, Esso continues to blur the line between personal narrative and larger-than-life performance — delivering songs that feel made for both the big screen and the small stage.
